Lifting Equipment Operator Training

This training program focuses on the operation of Mobile Lifting Equipment, including Forklift Trucks, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, Telehandler, Mobile Cranes, Crawler cranes, Articulating cranes, Overhead cranes, Truck mounted cranes, Tower cranes and carry decks.

The course aims to demonstrate the added value of using such equipment in a safe, economical and environmentally friendly manner.

Target audience

This training is designed for both entry-level and experienced Lifting Equipment Operators, Supervisors and Health and Safety representatives.

Objective

The objective of this course is to impart the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude required to operate Mobile Lifting Equipment efficiently and safely, while minimizing potential risks.

Training content

• Basic safety and general safety rules for operating Lifting Equipment
• Common hazards with the operation of Lifting Equipment
• Equipment components, indicators, and meters
• Center of gravity and stability
• Daily inspections
• Safe operational guidelines/ procedures

Training delivery method

The training will be conducted using a combination of knowledge-based and hands-on training methods. It will consist of 8 hours classroom training, including PowerPoint presentations, case studies and instructional videos, followed by 8 hours of practical training. The training will also include a written test (passing score of 80%) and practical demonstration and assessment.
